Laura Palacios

Laura Palacios serves as Senior Financial Advisor and Executive Vice President for American Investment Planners (AIP). For more than twenty years, she has provided high-net-worth individuals and small and mid-size businesses with comprehensive private wealth management, retirement plan solutions and insurance strategies. With her background in financial planning, Laura delivers thoughtfully constructed plans for the individuals and companies she works with. She meticulously develops customized portfolios for her clients while considering the account ownership and structure for estate planning purposes. Laura works with centers of influence such as CPAs to help ensure portfolios are run with the highest degree of tax efficiency. Laura takes a multifaceted approach to building and preserving wealth for her clients.

Over the past two decades, Laura has focused on managing and structuring corporate retirement plans. She consults with traditional 401(k) plans and more unique options, such as tax-qualified benefits and cash balance plans. Laura meets regularly with fiduciaries and trustees to provide high-touch service and to help ensure the plan continues to meet the changing needs of the clients she serves. Over time, a company’s corporate structure as well as ERISA rules and regulations change, therefore it is imperative to consistently review, benchmark and be proactive with planning and oversight.

Prior to joining AIP, Laura spent sixteen years at Signature Securities Group as an Investment Adviser Representative, where her team managed over $1.1B in assets. Over the years, Laura has received numerous awards and recognition, including being named one of Long Island's 50 Top Women Professionals by Long Island Business News in 2013. In the fall of 2022, Northwell Health honored Laura for her work with her non-profit organization, Friends of Huntington Station Latin Quarter (HSLQ). Through HSLQ, Laura works to provide meals to families in need, organizes annual toy drives, which has benefited thousands of children, coordinates neighborhood cleanups and assists families affected by domestic violence, death and disabilities.

Laura Palacios graduated from Queens College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Liberal Arts. She also holds a certificate in Financial Planning from C.W. Post. Her greatest passion lies in parenting three wonderful daughters, Sabrina, Isabella, and Violet, and with Xavier, her loving husband, she works hard to ensure they remain healthy, happy and well-grounded.
